How do I order a custom design?
Start by getting in touch with us using the details on the contact page.
Once we have an idea of the changes you want, we will model them up in 3D and send you a screenshot for approval.
You can then order a your custom designs using the following product: Custom FPV Stick Ends
Then just sit back and wait for a few days while we get them manufactured and sent out to you.
What does ‘Available on backorder’ mean?
We strive to keep a small stock of every stick end in our range. However, with over 200 different sizes and color combinations, it’s not always possible. Occasionally, we may need to manufacture certain items to order.
When this happens, there may be a slight delay in shipping—typically just 3 to 5 days.
If your order includes both in-stock and backordered items, we’ll ship everything together once the backordered products are ready. This approach helps us minimize shipping costs, allowing us to keep our prices low and deliver exceptional value to you.
What does ‘Collect at Event’ mean?
PricklySticks offer free collection from many UK drone racing events and also the occasional international event.
Please ensure you check this schedule before selecting collect at event during checkout.
There are no events currently planned, this page will be updated once the 2025 season kicks off again.
Can I have a custom colour?
There is a minimum order quantity of 30 pairs for custom colours – this is due to there being a minimum amount of resin that is required for the printer to work reliably.
While we will strive to get the colour as close to your sample as possible, we can’t guarantee a perfect colour match.
How do you design these stick ends?
Our main peice of software is OpenSCAD, this is not like your traditional CAD software in that it is all based around programming code. This enables us to share code between stick ends making updates easier and is also great for creating repeating patterns such as the spikes.
We also use Inkscape to draw the more complex curved shapes, which are then imported into OpenSCAD and converted into 3D objects.
Do you only print stick ends?
We often get request to print other items too, please contact us for more information.
Can you print my custom design?
Yes, we absolutely can. Feel free to get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
We do ask that your design doesnt include the threaded part as we have to tune the tolerances on threads to suit the printer so we will add these in ourselves.
Your design must also include space for a small drainage hole at the top, this allows the uncured resin to escape and also releases any suction pressure that can cause print failiures.
Why dont you use threaded inserts?
There are a number of reasons why we dont use brass threaded inserts in our stick ends:
- The strength of 3D printed threads when using resin is greater than when using inserts. [CNC Kitchen Video]
- Inserts can be misaligned leading to wonky stick ends
- Glueing the inserts into place can lead to glue in the threads
- Printed threads can run the entire height of the stick end, so you arent limited to just the small amount of thread in the insert.
- They are both cheaper and quicker for us to produce, allowing us to keep our prices low.
Do printed stick ends wear down?
Yes, with prolonged use they will wear down slightly.
If you stick ends have worn down, send us a photo and we will send you a discount code for a saving on your next set.
